About Taien Ng-Taien

Taien Ng-Chan is a Montréal writer, filmmaker, and interdisciplinary artist. She is author of a book/multimedia CD called Maps of Our Bodies and the Borders We Have Agreed Upon, anthology editor of Ribsauce, and co-editor of Navigating Customs. She has written drama for stage, screen, and radio, and her work has been shown across Canada, in the US, Korea, and Sweden. Her short film The Red Ribbon won the Location Michel Trudel Award for Best Poetic Film at Concordia University, where she received her MFA. She has been the recipient of numerous artist grants from the Canada Council, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and Heritage Canada. Currently, Taien is also a SSHRC scholar in the Humanities Ph.D. program at Concordia University. Her areas of investigation include “expanded” documentary, post-ethnicity and urban culture in cinema.
